Have you ever thought of increasing your current skills? Have you ever thought about adding new skills? Like adding a new spreadsheet on your brain’s database, and then insert the records. You want to do it, you want to learn some new skills, BUT you don’t want to be in another crowded class like the old times because you don’t have time to spare due to your busy life. Well, the online course is the recommended solution for you.
So, Kally from Middleme.net asked me a question a few days ago when I visited her site and read her post about something like getting paid without doing anything. Therefore, I shared my experience with her because it also happened to me before. The boredom of sitting in the room, doing the same bland stuff over and over again, but still getting paid.
So Kally asked me if I ever thought about taking an online course in the future. Honestly, I have been considering buying an online course before, but I still don’t have time to do some research on it. Then last week, one of my clients said something about courses, and that was the first time I come across and get to know about Udemy, one of the largest online course platforms out there.
What Is UDEMY?
Udemy is an online course platform and a teaching marketplace. They have over 100,000 courses and more than 40 million students right now. I’ve checked on the site, and there are a bunch of categories there. Some of the courses are Development, Programming, Business, Finance & Accounting, IT, Productivity, Design, Marketing, Lifestyle, Music, Health, and Academics. Inside these categories, there are still many subcategories inside.
I’ve been thinking about learning Web Development skills before. Therefore, I did some research on the courses there, and I decided to buy a course at only $14. There was a 95% sale last week, so I think this is an excellent chance and the right time for me to buy it.
Why Is Online Course Recommended?
Some people might never hear of the online course before. Some people also have ever heard about it. Yet, they have a dilemma of whether to take an online course or not. Here are the reasons why the online course is recommended for you.
Flexibility means that you can learn the course anytime and everywhere you want. If you prefer to learn it while laying in your bedroom, you can do it. If you prefer to learn while having coffee in a cafe nearby, you can also do it. You are the one who manages the time to study the course.
Also, the online course provides you with lifetime access. The course won’t disappear when you finished it. You can return and redo the course if you want it. If there are some updates provided by the tutor, you will be notified and get back to check on it.
Online courses are cheap and affordable. You must already know how much money you can spend if you take a real class or course in your town. Instead, online courses provide you with numerous knowledge to learn at a low and affordable price.
What Recommended Course Should You Take?
Well, it’s all up to you. There are many courses in Udemy. Do you want to be a guitarist? There are many Guitar courses there. Do you want to be a great marketer? There are also many Marketing courses there. OR do you want to be a reliable person that has a cool cooking skill, and prepare various delicious meals for your partner? Then you can check the Cooking courses that are also available there.
But before buying the course, it’s better to do some research on it. You can check on the reviews from people who already completed the course. Usually, they will give a full review, like how successful the tutor is, how enjoyable the tutor is when explaining the lesson, and does the course is worth it for you to buy.
There is also a tag attached to some popular courses like Highest rated or Bestseller. I’ll provide you the link for a list of recommended courses, you can check them here. Also, don’t forget to check on the sale. Sometimes Udemy offers a big deal for all courses in a short span. So you should check it out daily.
What Can You Do In Your Course?
After you bought a course, you can do these amazing things:
Every online course has multiple sections, and most of them are videos. If you watch the video and then found something that you think is important for you to check on in the future. Sometimes there are some advice or maybe a secret technique for that course, you can bookmark it in the video. Then all the bookmarks that you made will be visible in your bookmark tab.
Question & Answer
There is a Question & Answer tab in each lesson. Many questions are being asked there, and most of the time, the tutor or other students will answer the question presented there. So if you have a question, you can directly ask it in this tab. It’s a helpful feature, so feel free to ask if you have any questions for the course.
Sometimes, there are some updates provided by the tutor, and they will announce it in this tab. You can take a look at the image below, where the tutor of my ongoing course added a new update on the course. Make sure you always check on this tab.
About My Course
I purchased The Complete 2020 Web Development Bootcamp by Angela Yu, the lead instructor at the London App Brewery, London’s leading Programming Bootcamp. I bought this course because I have a dream of owning my own business, creating some cool sites for my company, and numerous web-based applications.
The reason why I chose this course because it has 4.7 ratings with more than 130 thousand students. Furthermore, this course has 35 sections, with 480 lectures, and 54 hours of a total length of video lessons. From what the course description said, here is what I will learn by taking this course:
- Be able to build ANY website you want.
- Craft a portfolio of websites to apply for junior developer jobs.
- Build fully-fledged websites and web apps for your startup or business.
- Work as a freelance web developer.
- Master back-end development with Node.
- Master front-end development with React.
- Learn professional developer best practices.
With only $14, I can learn these skills without having to be in a full and crowded classroom, full lifetime access, receive a certificate of completion, and study with my own schedule. I think it’s excellent. Also, after I finished with this course, I want to learn Android programming and possibly learn MERN Stack.
MERN Stack is the shorten phrase for MongoDB, ExpressJS, ReactJS, and NodeJS. One of my friends said that this is an advanced technology. I can create a marvelous full-stack web application if I learn this skill. So I decided that this course is the next course that I want to learn in the future.

You only need to sign up, choose, and buy the course that you like. Just don’t forget my advice before, do some research first and read the reviews. So what are you waiting for?
